HAURAKI PLAINS LAND.

BALLOT AT TE AROHA.

A considerable amount of interest was centred in the ballot at Te Aroha on Friday for a number oi sections ot land, fifty ot which were located in part of the Hauraki Plains and in the Ohinemuri district. There were about two hundred present. The successiul applicants generally are a fine class of farmer, and should prove an acquisition to the district. Hughes; 31, R.Wilson ; 32, J. H. Hodge; 33, J. Fitness ; 34, J. W. Bascher; 35, V. McCullough ; S6, J. J. Cotter; 37, J. Newdick; 38, M. Brown ; 39, O. Caldwell; 40, J. F. Mayn ; 41, L. Carter; 42, R. Muir;43, G. Johnston; 44, C.S. Appleby; 45, R. S. M. Kilgour ; 46, D. J. Rogers ; 47, J. Patterson; 48, M. J. Christie; 49, A. N. POpe ; 50, A. Gairy. THE BALACHRAGGAN SETTLEMENT. Considerable interest was manifested in the sections comprising Mr Matthew Henry's estate at Wa;toa. The title of the land is renewable lease. The estate comprises fourteen hundred and fifty acres'of first-class land, and is situated between the Ohinemuri and Piako Counties. The subdivision ot this land spells increased prosperity for the Thames Valley. There were 112 applications for the thirty-three sections. The following is the result of the ballot:— Section 2, M. Darlington ; 10, A. H. Foster; 11, A. Johnson ; 12, A. Gilliand; 13, A. J. Murphy; 14, W. H. Bigwood; 15, S. McKibbon; 16, S. Marson; 17, M. Ogden ; 18,. D. F. Curtain; 19, C. Raythborne; 20, R. Kitchen; 2r, C. Buckley; 22, J. Mack ; 23, J. O'Shaughnessy ; 24, L. Williams; 25, A. Boden; 26, M. Sharkey; 27, M. J. Richards ; 28, G. R. Sanson; 29, B. A. Patterson; 30, M. Shandley.
