HEART FAILURE THE CAUSE OF DEATH.

FUNERAL TO-MORROW. We understand that as Dr Lapralk, who had been attending the late Mr McGowan lor some time, as well as/Dr Walshe, who was called in after the unfortunate gentleman was found in extremis, will give a certificate to the effect that death was caused by heart failure, the coroner's inquest will be dispensed with. Some time ago, it is said, the Hon. Mr McGowan stated that if he acted on medical advice he would have to be careful, but it was never generally anticipated that his heart was so weak. The funeral will be held to-morrow afternoon at half-past two o'clock, and there is sure to be one of the largest and most representive gatherings held in the Thames district. The Cabinet and various public departments will be represented.
