SHOOTING.
On Saturday last on the Karangahake range the No. i Company O.R.V. fired for trophies given by Messrs Robson Bros, and Mr J. Wall, of Paeroa. The conditions were seven shots and one optional sighter at 200, 500, and 600 yards. The following were the highest scores :—
Private Hyde has been shooting very consistently lately, this being his second successive win. Sergeant Red path, who is also a member of the Waikino Rifle Club, journeyed to Waikino on Saturday and carried oft the club shield with the good score ol 96 made up as follows :—32 at 200, 35 at 500, and 29 at 600. A shooting match will probably take place on the Paeroa range on Saturday, December loth, between the No. 1 Company U.R.V. and the Waikino Rifle Club.
There will be trophy shooting on Karangahake range next Saturday.
