SEIZURE OF LIQUOR.

A WAIHI CASE.

On Saturday night about nine o'clock Sergeant Griffiths, in company with Constables Blakely and Achaeson, made a raid on the premises of W. Sherry, a miner residing in Kenny Street, Waihi, who keeps some boarders. The police state that they found seven men drinking in a bedroom, with a five-gallon keg of beer on tap ; and in another room a case of liquor partly consumed, also a number of empties on the floor. They also state that bottles of beer and glasses were discovered in a second bedroom, and a five-gallon keg of beer, not tapped, was found in the yard. It is alleged that this keg was removed from the building when the police entered. All the liquor was seized and taken to the police station. We understand that informations will probably be laid for next Court day at Waihi.
