VISIT TO OHINEMURI.

UNVEILING THE RRADFORD MEMORIAL

FOUNTAIN.

DEPUTATIONS TO THE PREMIER.

COMPLIMENTARY BANQUET.

INTERESTING SPEECHES BY THE PREMIER

Without a doubt, Saturday was a red letter day for Paeroa. The news that the Premier would visit Paeroa

travelled like fire through the country, and from far and near people flocked in to see and hear New Zealand's Premier, the Right Hon. R. J. Seddon. And a right hearty welcome did the Premier receive too. Wherever he went he was pointed out as the " champion of the working man," the instigator of " old age pensions," the first to send colonial troops to assist the Empire in South Africa; " the Premier with the record reign," and as the man who had done more for Now Zealand than any other man. There can be no doubt that the people were pleased with the Premier visiting our district, and the welcome given him was one of which any one might be proud The Premier arrived in Paeroa about mid-day on Saturday, coming ; by special train from Te Aroha. He was accompanied by the Hon. James Carroll (Native Minister), Mr J. H. Witheford, M.H.R., Captain Seddou (the Premier's son), and his private secretaries. At tho railway station he was met and welcomed by the County Chairman (Mr H. Poland), and the party were taken to the Criterion Hotel, which place was made their headquarters during their stay.
