THE CARTERS' DISPUTE.

(To the Editor). Sin.—l have carefully rea,d the correspondence on the above subject between Ohas. M. BrunskiJl and " Boogum," and it seems to me, sir, that C. M. B. has had a long way the worst of the argument. His latest effusion, appearing in r your issue of Monday, is a yery feeble reply to " Bbogum's" lettdr. How quickly 0. M. How strange he did not think of that before, when he wrote his first letter, in which he appears so anxious to reconcile—sparo the mark—the master a and the men. ■And how brave 0. M. B. does, not tell us how a man is " wronging himself, his wife, and family " by trying to obtain what he considers a fair day's pay for a fair day's work. Pull yourself together, Mr Brunskill, and tell us why a man shomld not obtain as much remuneration for his- labour as he pan. . Tell us, also, * why the carters in Ohinemuri should not have their maximum hourSsand miui-' mirn wages fixed by the Arbitration Couii like they are in other parts of the colony.
