There are signs of the mobilisation of the reserve fleet. An Italian squadron is conceh.trating at Spczia owing to the movements on the part of the French fleet in the Levant and the Russian Black Sea fleet. Lord Kitchener has stopped the expedition against the Khalifa, who is alleged to have left Jelelgebia. The Wiir Office has been unofficially informed that a squadron of the 18th Hussars, commanded by Colonel Moller and two other officers,- was cut ofF during the Glencoe pursuit and captured. They are probably 80 prisoners altogether. Durban, October 26. General Symons is doing well. The bullet has been extracted. Amongst the spoils captured at Elandsiaagte were 500 horses. . It is estimated that 30,000 Boers and Free Staters are on the point of invading Natal. Capetown. October 26. Kimberl.cy is completely invested. The besieged have erected barricades and blocked the streets with bai-bed wire. ': Durban, September 26. . The Hussars and the Dublin Fusiliers captured at Gloncoe were taken to Pretoria, and have been treated well. > , Free State troops are . again massing at Elandsiaagte. There are also several th< >usands of Besters. .: ■■- After the battle of Elandsiaagte Dr Hornabrook, advancing alone, .summoned 40 Boers,- who had taken refuge in some stores, to stirren cler. The summons was obeyed. The Boers said they were glad the fighting was over.
