[mo THE EJiBOTOES X OF THK PAEROA HIDING. Ladies and Gentlemen,— I mfcend again to ofier ray services at the ensuing election of Counoillors, and if you consider that I Jnivo done my duty in the past 1 would respectfully <f*'k a continuance of your support. FREDERICK COOK. mo T H E X LEG TO R S 1 oi' PAEROA RIDING. f.ADIBS AND Q KNTL ■ U F.N, — As the Notlierfcon Riding is now merged into the Paeroa Riding, j I again offer my services as one of your representatives in the Paeroa Riding, and if returned will in future, as during the past, use my utmost endeavour t* promote the best interests of your riding and get a fair share of the QSounty revenue, also the welfare of the Cotinty in general. I am, Yours respectfully; WM. MOORE. - Netherton, Oct. 5, 1899. /BOUNTY COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTOES, PAEROA RIDING. Ladies and Gentlemen.— I am a candidate for one of the three seats of the above Riding. I am ■ sincerely of opinion that a new order of affairs must be reckoned upon in the Paeroa District. We must not consider that we are the sole emporium for the whole goldfield as we once were. Each distric j now caters for itself. We must, therefore, although, of course, indirectly benefitting by our magnificent field, rest more upon our own resources than hitherto. We must first malte our town a desirable place of residence; one in which workers farther afield will be pleased to take up their domiciles. We have a splendid water supply, excellent gas lighting, public abattoirs, etc., and are at the head of navigation. But we want more than this to make our town desirable. A scheme of drainage is imperative and is the first thing to be thought of. Then Government should be pressed to grant us a Reserve as a Domain or Park. There are few townships of the size of Paeroa that'have not their pleasure resort. Then our streets and footpaths badly require attention. But laatly, but a long w.ay removed from least, our main roads must be looked to. ; There are the roads to Marototo and ' Hikutaia to. the north, which feed Paeroa and which Paeroa feeds. There is also the great question of the opening up of the immense area of land between Netherton and Turua, which should be done at once, as also, should be the completion of the Waitoa-Paeroa Road. J should be in favour also of some money being expended on River Conservation, which is likely to be sadly needed. The. matter of a land endowment for the County is also ong to be thought of and likewise the route of the proposed Paeroa-Waihi Railway as affecting this ■Riding. The management of local affairs during the next tew years may mean the making or the marring of our Riding. I have the honor to be, Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, EDWIN EDWARDS. mo THE ELECTORS i. OF THE KARANGAHAKE RIDING. OHINEMURI COUNT*, .- Ladies and Gentlemen,—I beg to offer myself as a Candidate for a seat in the Ohinemuri County Council for the Karangahake Riding. If. elected, I will at all times strictly attend to the safeguarding of your interests, the advancement of which will always have my most earnest care and attention. I therefore respectfully ask your support. T remain, Ladies and gentlemen, Yours respectfully, M. MARRINAN. (Alias M. T, Hira.) TO THE ELECTO B S OF THE WAITEKAUM RIDING. Ladies and Gentlemen,-— I have much pleasure in announcing myself again as a candidate for your suffrages at the forthcoming election for members of the Ohinemuri County Council. The Waitekauri Riding is now separated from Waihi, and I shall now be able to concentrate all my energy in the requirements- of your district. Though not actually a resident of Waitekauri just now, my business compels me to visit there as well as the other centres of the goldfield, and periodical visits will make me as conversant with your requirements as actual residence in your midst. During my term of office it has been my pleasure to attend to any matters brought under my notice by those I represented, and if re-elected it shall be so again. My interests since the re-organisation of ridings are now concentrated in Waitekauri, and should you do me the honour to return me as your member 1 can pledge myself to consistently work in your interests as well as those of the whole of the Ohinemuri goldfield. I remain, Ladies and gentlemen, Yours obediently, henry McClelland. TO THE ELEOTORsToF OHINEMURI.
