H. P. Barry, general superinof the Waihi Q-old Mining properties, returned to Zealand by the-mail steamer on Wednesday, and proceed to the mine in the afternoon. Mr Barry stated ' that it is intended to push forward with all possible speed the erection of 50 of the 100 hoitd of stamps which the company has resolved to add to its battery power. The additional 50 head of stamps will make the company's crushing appliances the largest in the southern hemisphere. Wet crushing, by the cyanide process, will be proceeded with, and arrangements will hjMnade for the separation and treatn^l of the slimes by means of the filter press process.
