Library Committee.
A meeting of the Library Conio mittee was held in the Library Buildings on Tuesday night last. There were presentVjMessrs Burgess (ibl the chair), Sullivan, Kenrick, Kenny, and Mackay, and Eev Mr Burton. The balance-sheet of the moonlight excursion, showing a profit of £2 17s, was adopted. A circularjwas received from 0-overn-ment, stating that the amount of grant payable to the Ohin«muri Library was £7 12s Id.
As the funds in hand now amount to £55 it was decided to make application' for tho subsidy of £1 for £1 already gramted by the Couucil, and and on receipt of the subsidy tenders will be called for a building estimated to cost about £120. Messrs Burgess, Mackay, Kenrick, and Sullivan were appointed a building committee. Eev Mr Burton, who has been an aetivo nioaib.oi\.of the committee since its formation, tendered his resignation, and expressed his regret at not being able to see the building completed, but his removal to the South Island made this impossible. Dhe Committee expressed their regret at losing the reverend gentleman's assistance, and wished Mm all prosperity in his new sphere,
