Some millions and millions of icons * ago? When the gods had but little to do; And were looking for anything, just with a chance to bring Something exciting or new. * • # ' * ' * «• Well,:-we'll try a new world, yawned the big boss god, I Just to see how the darned thing shapes. \. So, in lazy merriment, just for experiment, Started the Earth; —with apes. . «. * # * # Then their moments, (our centuries) rapidiy flew, And the gods looked carelessly on; While the apes, grew to men, and the gods laughejl then, Now what have we gone and done. * * * # * Then the big boss god with his big field glass, Gazed down on the human crew, .Great Cosmos! he cried, as he held his side, They are telling Us what to do. * ■» . * - # * They do not consider we're able to run Their very particular globe. And some patronise us, another de- • cries us; We're fools, says another microbe. * «•• .*■ * * They've kings—ha! ha!. ha? — and they've bishops and priests, Who very commandingly pray. We gods are amiss— We must do that and this, Or they'll chuck us, they solemnly say.

pleaides, And he took a pot shot, and the Earth
