MASTER BUILDERS' ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the master builders in the Ohinem >vi district was held in the Fire Brigade Shed, Paeroa, yesterday at 2 p.m. The following were, present: —Messrs J. McAndrew, J. Macdonell, T. Penk, Garton, P. Macfarlane, Steele, and W. Forrest. Apologies were .received from Messrs S. Craig, -, W. S. Smith, and W. Colwell. '" Mr J. McAndrew was voted to the chair. The following resolutions were passed :— "That a Builders' Association be formed, to bo called the ' Ohinemuri Builders' Association.'" " That Mr W. Forrest be appointed Secretary." " That the rate of wages for. competent carpenters be Is 2d per hour for actual time worked, to come into force from the Ist October." " That the members of the Association pledge themselves not to tender except on |jtho compensation clauses contained in the rules of the Auckland Builders' Association." The meeting adjournod till Wednesday next, the 30th inst., at the same hour and place, when it is expected that a very large number of the builders in the district will be present.;
