The concert given- in the Criterion Theatre on Saturday evening last by Mr. John Fuller's company proved a great success, both from ."a musical rand an artistic point of view. There was a very good attendance, and. all the various items were highly appreciated, judging, from the applause accorded. Mr Walter Fuller commenced the programme by playing an overture, " Martha," after .■which a large number of fine views, of English scenery were thrown oil/.the screen, the lantern and apparatus used in reproducing these Views being one. of the most powerful in the colony. The pictures possessed a beautiful tint and the light and colouring were very fine. These were interspersed with songe, by Mr John Fuller, " Ora Pro Nobis," •' The: Village Blacksmith "by Mr Buttery, - Gall "Me Back "by Miss Tobias, and a duet by Messrs J. Fuller . and Buttery. In the second part of the beautiful limelight views of. Scottish and" Irish scenery were similarly shown and were greatly admired. Indeed it was the best and most complete limelight arrangement yet shown in Paeroa. Messrs J. Fuller and Buttery and Miss Tobias rendered several songs in the second part, " The Death of Nelson " - by, .Mr Fuller being sung. in his well 7 known effective -manner.. Altogether the entertainment was most .enjoyable.
