In: connection with the Kauri timber mater,.the fol owing letter was re jeived yesterday fiom Oplpnel Fraser,.M.H b..: Sic, —The petition re kauri timber arrived* too• late. I presented it immediateiy on receipt, bnt the Waste Lands Comm^tbep, to whom it would in usual course be r^ferr^d, hd dissolved for the session. I have,, however, got a copy off memorial made, and forwarded to bocb- Minister of-Lands and M.mister of Mines, calling their attention' to the nfceh&ity of doing- something in the direction indicated in memorial.
