SPORTING NOTES.
The kicking 'competition for the medal presented by Mr Rhodes came off last Saturday afternoon in the presence of a good number of spectators. • The following competed ;— Moore, Coote, McGuire (2), Vuglar, Power, Rusden, Keuiick, Mahoney, BasJey Gibbons, and Littlejohn. A strong bieese was blowing and in the first round poor kicking was done, Moore, Basley and Power tied with two goals each. In the second round better form was shown, Power eventually- winning with Basley 2nd, and Mojre 3rd. The favourites, Uoote, Keurick and Littlejohn were " dead off." V Since the above, competition Coote •has been matched against Power for £i aside. The kicking will take place this afternoon. * # ft The following wi.l represent the local football club against the .Carters, Carpenters and Mine Managers to-day:— Backs : Coote, Stepheuson,. Vuglar, O'Hailoran, Power, Home, and McLean.
