<Captain Newby -said he -bad 'much 1 pleasure in proposing Mr Samuel, 4 Cooper 1 for re-election as President, as "he felt sure; from past experience, the right man was in the right place. Mr !John:.Pepper, in seconding the } proposition, eulogised the late Presi''•s'dent's- past services. >Mr Cooper was unanimously' elected for the ensuing-year. Mr ' Cooper, in gracefully acknowSledging the compliment: paw that the ! prosperity of the Society much depended upon: the election 6f *»a- Secretary, as to Shim -was left the preparing of the ipro- -. gramme, and the Society had experienced a loss in ■ the removal from 'Tapu 6f'Mr Ji A. 0.5 Lament, who in the, !1 past-session had so well carried out the daties of the- 6ffice,'he -would Newfcy for the dffice 6f Hon.
