The Picturesque Atlas proprietors, Messrs Bowerman Bros,, have been unsuccessfully engaged at Pukekohe in. a number of disputed cases in connection with their now notorious publication. Mr Edwin Hesketh acted as solicitor for the plaintiffs, and'Mr Cotter for the defendants, Messrs Wright,' Allen; and Roulston, There are several c:- es pending in addition to the above, but it was agreed to take these as test cases. The evidence adduced went mainly to prove that misrepresentation was had recourse to in obtaining the orders, practically the same defence as set up in most'of the cases tried 1 in this district. The case resulted in the plaintiffs, agreeing to all three cases bieng struck out with costs, '£12 odd against them Cheers for'Mr Cotter, solicitor for the defendants, and groans for Bowerman Bros, were given as the train moved off.
