I have had an interview with the Hon. Mr McKenzie, Minister of Lands, in refereuoe to Ohinemuri affairs. He informs me that he is unable to accept the kind invitation of Lhe lo."al body, being urgently recalled to Wellington, but will visit the Ohinemuri aud Te Aroha district about February nest.
The first "discovery- of native" silver' at Zeehan has been made in the Silvester mine in conjunction with chlorides.
j^ronv Perth it is reported that a new goldtield has been discovered at Goopgan, W.A, —the richest yet found in the colony. Several large nuggets (two weighing respectively 600oz and 2500z) have been-discovered.
An excellent feeling in reference 'to Karangahake and the upper country is arising. . •
