WATER STORAGE

BIG USERS CLOSE DOWN Reduced Demand During Holidays - With the big consumers of water such as the breweries, freezing works and certain large manufacturing concerns now closed down for the Christmas holidays, there will not be so great a demand on the city water supplies. Some had ceased operations by Thursday, and this was reflected in the reduced loss in storage at the reservoirs yesterday. In spite of the fact that Thursday was one of the hottest days of the year, the loss of water was not as great as it was on Wednesday. During the holidays there will be a greatly reduced call on storage even though the dry weather does continue, for many people will be out of town. The holding in the reservoirs yesterday morning was 108,111,000 gallons. The demand for the previous 24 hours was 7.084.000 gallons, and the inflow. 5.154,000. the loss for the period being 1.930,00. Present storage is now at the lowest point since November 30. when heavy rain eased the situation. .
