Ministerial The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Bodkin, will meet members of the Mayor’s Relief Organisation in Dunedin this morning. The Otago Hospital Board .last night appointed its deputy chairman, Dr N. H North, as its representative on the Oid People’s Welfare Council. The resident naval officer in Dunedin, Lieutenant-commander M. G. Collins, paid his first official call on the new Mayor, Mr Wright, yesterday morning. Commander Collins has just returned from leave. ‘ Cr E. E. McMillan was appointed to the Dunedin Metropolitan Milk Board in place of Mr E. J. Smith at the monthly meeting of the board last night. Cr D. G. Ballantine (Gree.i Island) was also appointed. A presentation of a silver rose bowl was made to Mr Hugh Russell (Caversham), at the monthly meeting of the Dunedin Metropolitan Milk Board last night by the chairman, Mr W. B. Taverner. Mr Russell won the bowl at the Otago A. and P. Society’s summer show for the best turned-out vendor’s truck. Because of the high standard of the display, the other two competitors, Mr W. E. Harbrow (Tomahawk), and Fox Bros. (Mornington). were also presented with prizes.
