PROPERTY AUCTIONS

Only one out of the four properties up for auction in the city yesterday was sold. This was a seaside cottage situated on a quarter-acre freehold section at Brighton. Bidding started at £BOO and went to £IOSO. Park, Reynolds, Ltd., conducted the auction. This firm also auctioned a six-roomed residence situated in Delta street, Roslyn, but as the bidding did not go beyond £1950 the property was withdrawn. Bidding reached £I9OO for a roughcast bungalow situated in McGeorge avenue, but the property was passed in. The auctioneers, Alex. Harris, Ltd., advised that they were negotiating a private sale. A seven-roomed wooden villa situated in Main South road was put up for auction by N. and E. S. Paterson, Ltd., but here again the bidding did not reach the reserve price.
