THE HARD WAY
Sir, —Every so often we read in the papers new Ideas written by so-called experts on ways to defeat Russia. The latest of these I read was a statement by Sir Hubert Wilkins on the effect of landing troops on the doorstep of Russia from submarines. I wonder if I would n
get my picture in the paper if I make a similarly worthless statement. Why not equip paratroops in Berlin and fly them into Moscow, no limit to the size of the planes. Or, hide a soldier in each bale of wool we ship to Russia—that would give them a terrible shock, -their morale would drop and victory would be ours.
Let’s stop kidding ourselves about Russia. It will take years of an all-out effort by all who hate dictatorship and Communism to win the peace.—l am, etc., Freedom.
