—^ Position At Bklclutha No election was held for the Balclutha Borough . Council on Saturday. When the nominations closed on October 27, only one nomination—that of William Douglas Lattimore, a sitting member — had been received for the nine vacancies on the council, and there was ilo nomination for the mayoralty. Subsequently, it was decided that a further election would be held on Saturday, December 2, to fill the vacancies. There are now twc candidates for the mayoralty. Gavin Murdoch Carter and Ivan Skene Allan Jenkins, and 14 for the remaining eight seats on the council Mr Lattimore has been declared elected
