MAYORAL ELECTION

Fort Chalmers Borough TWO CANDIDATES NAMED The Mayor of Port Chalmers, Mr T. Anderson, intends to seek re-election at next month’s local body elections. A deputation waited on him yesterday, and he informed its members that he would contest the mayoralty again, as he would like to see completed the works he had commenced in the borough. It seems probable that the mayoral election will be contested, for Mr James Matthews has intimated that he will most likely allow his nomination to go forward. Mr Matthews, who is a chemist in Port Chalmers, is a former councillor and convener $f the Library Committee.
