Fire In Maternity Annexe

PA NEW PLYMOUTH, Oct. 7. A fire occurred today in the Stratford Hospital’s new maternity annexe, which was officially opened on Saturday. The fire was apparently caused by a leak in the sheathing of the flue from a coke heat-storage range in the kitchen, which was lit yesterday for the first time. The fire was noticed immediately, and was extinguished by the Stratford Fire Brigade before it had taken hold.
