SALMON SPEAR AMISS

Recurrence Of Foot Injury

Special to the Daily Times INVERCARGILL, Oct. 17,

Salmon Spear, principal winner at Wyndham on Saturday and a New Zealand Cup candidate, is at present receiving veterinary attention and his future programme is in doubt. He has been paid up for In the Members’ Handicap at Gore this week, but it is very unlikely that he will be a starter. He has had a recurrence of an old foot injury as a result of which a hoof has split again, and he was lame after his Wyndham race. F. W. Ellis said this morning that he was not hopeful about Salmon Spear’s future racing. He looks a better horse now than at any previous stage of his racing.
