UNIVERSITY TRIO’S RECITAL

The final recital of chamber music for this season will be given by the Univerity Trio in the Town Hall Concert Chamber next Thursday evening. By its Dunedin recitals and by its performances on tour this trio has established itself as the leading chamber music group in the Dominion. The programme will include Mozart’s sparkling Trio in C major. Francis Bate and Maurice Till will give the first Dunedin, and probably the first New Zealand performance, of Rachmaninov’s magnificent Sonata for ’cello and piano. The Piano Trio by the first great Czech composer, Smetana, will also be played.
