KING’S SERIES
New Zealanders Score Well
RIFLE SHOOTING IN AUSTRALIA
Rec 11.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 11. In fair weather conditions the first stage of the King's series was fired over 300, 300 and 600 yards at the Anzac rifle range today. A rear left wind of varying strength provided interest and particularly at 600yds caused many low scores. W. F. Smith of Queensland led the field with possibles at each of the three ranges to achieve the coveted score of 105. New Zealanders, in general, scored well and should fill a number of major placings in this preliminary series. An indication of the standard of shooting may be gained from the fact that at 300yds there were 13 possibles, while at 500yds there were 52 and at 600yds, 4.
