FILLMORE SHOULD WIN

SPORTING

Selected For Second Leg Of Forbury Double

HALL ACE PLACE PROSPECT

By the Sporting Editor

The dozen acceptors for the Victory Handicap, the second leg of the double at Forbury Park next Saturday, were all started' in the corresponding race last Saturday, and the form they showed then will no doubt be reflected in the betting on Saturday. ,* Allanah did not show the dash expected of her on the first day and Clueless ran himself out after being one of the early leaders Fillmore finished on for third to Aqua Lady and Goldina in the Dominion Handicap, and with those two not competing on Saturday he looks the logical favourite.

Goldsmith and Sahara Queen will be bracketed on Saturday, but judged by the first day’s form, neither of them can be given much chance, and Hall Ace, who finished fifth bn the first day, should beat them again. Josedale Audubon, Melton and Pierre will need to improve on recent form if they are to pay a dividend, but the race .Red Anthony had last Saturday should have improved him and he may run better than he did.

Gay Note never looked like winning the Dominion Handicap, but Bulls’ Eye finished very solidly for fourth and if his driver can persuade him to travel a smooth race he is likely to pay a dividend.

Fillmore will no doubt be selected as favourite with Hall Ace and Allanah popular on the place machine.
