Burnside Stock Sale URGE YARDING OF FAT CATTLE Entries in the main sections at the Burnside sale yesterday were larger than for some weeks. The offering of fat cattle numbered approximately 460 head, this being a particularly large yarding for this time of the year. The entry was mostly of a good standard, with only a limited number of pens of ordinary and plain sorts. With the larger yarding to hand and fewer outside buyers, prices were well below those of the previous week. In parts of the sale values declined from £2 10s to £3 a head, while in other parts the best quality ox was only a shade lower than last week. On the average, the prices were from 35s to £2 a head lower than last week. Cows and heifers did not show the same disparity, there being little difference in values from previous sales. In the fat sheep section the number penned was 2750, and the greater portion of the yarding was made up of shorn sheep.
