OFFICERS ELECTED

South Island Local Bodies Association PA CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 11. The Mayor of Christchurch, Sir Ernest Andrews, who has been president of the South Island Local Bodies’ Association since its formation eight years ago, was re-elected by the annual conference of the association in Akaroa today. Mr D. H. Cockburn was re-elected vice-president. Other officers elected were:—Honorary treasurer. Mr H. S. Feast (Christchurch); secretary, Mr F. G. K. Gilchrist (Christchurch); executive — Messrs J. A. Harley (Nelson), B. Chittock (Otago Counties), W. S. Crotty (Canterbury Counties), M. F. E. Cooney (Otago boroughs), E. C. Bathurst (South Island harbour boards), R. T. McMillan (South Island power boards), F. T. Ager (Canterbury boroughs), F. Boustridge (West Coast boroughs), M. Wallace (Westland counties), Dr G. Jobberns (South Island catchment board), Messrs H. J. S. Mitchell, E. C. Lawrence, C. R. Sutton and A. E. Coxall (all representing Nelson - Marlborough - West Coast League of Local Bodies) and J. C. McKenzie (Southland counties).

In addition a representative will be appointed from each of the City Councils of Christchurch. Dunedin. Invercargill and Timaru.
