FLASHING THE NEWS

Enlightenment For Soviet Sector Of Berlin AP—NZPA—Copyright BERLIN, Oct. 6. The West Berlin Publishers’ Association is erecting a giant electric bulletin board to flash news from the western world to the Soviet sector of Berlin. A board containing 2000 electric bulbs to illuminate the news bulletins is on top of three 100 ft high towers and stands across the Potsdamer Platz, the famous trouble spot where the Russian, American and British sectors meet.

West Berlin newspapers are banned in the east sector, but the Publishers’ Association says it will be difficult if not impossible for Communist police to prevent big crowds reading the illuminated news bulletins. The project has the sanction of the Western Allies.
