EASING TENDENCY

commerce

London Wool Sales NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 7. Tire close of the present series of London sales yesterday confirmed the easing prices for dominion wools, says the Finnacial Times. Prices dropped sharply for New Zealand greasy crossbreds, and better style Australian greasy merinos, which previously received good support, were lower.

Compared with the values at the close of the first week’s selling, when prices were about 50 per cent, up on the July sales for merino and about 70 per cent, for medium crossbreds, the Committee of tlie London Wool Brokers quotes these declines: Australian greasy merino spinners warp, 5 to 15 per cent, from first week’s level; New Zealand greasy crossbreds, 7 to 20 per cent.; South African, 10 to 15 per cent.
