SALES TO RESUME

Australian Apples For United Kingdom

Rec. 8 p.m. CANBERRA, Oct. 6. The Acting Minister of Commerce, Senator G. McLeay, has announced the resumption, after more than 10 years, of commercial sales of Australian apples to the United Kingdom. Exports will begin from the 1951 crop and the Apple and Pear Board will meet next month to consider the issue of licences. The fixing of a minimum export selling price to “ protect the industry from the effect of unhealthy competition among exports” will be discussed.
