SEWER GAS EXPLODES
Temporary Hysteria In Brooklyn Rec. 8.15 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 5. A sewer gas explosion in Brooklyn today sent manhole covers zooming to roof-top heights and caused women to scream out that atomic bombs had fallen. Four persons were injured by flying glass. A short circuit in the underground cables had ignited the accumulated sewer gases.
