OR, THE SON OF GOD? ” All Welcome No Collection. fruth H AS MAN AN IMORTAL SOUL ?

The Bible defines a living man (Gen. 2:7) to be a “living soul.” and a dead man (Num. 6:6, 9:10, 19:11, 16: 2 Chron 20:24,' 25, Psa. 79:2) to be a dead soul (Hebrew meth nepesh); and since Paul (Cor. 15:44, 45) defines a “living soul to be a “ natural body,” by what authority is it claimed that the soul is immortal and immaterial? Seeing that " living soul ” occurs 13 times in the original text of the Bible, and therein, once applied to man (Gen. 2:7), once to fish (Rev. 16:3) and 11 times to beasts (Gen. 1:20, 21 24, 30, 2:19, 9.10, 12, 15, 16; Lev. 11:10, 45), what room is there for THE IMMORTALITY of the soul? How can there be any difficulty in determining the whereabouts of “the soul” in view of the fact that the Scriptures declare that the blood is the soul (Nephesho) OF ALL FLESH (Gen. 9:4; Lev. 17:11, 14; Deut. 12:23)? IF men possess immortality (which means deathlessness), how is-it-that they die, or be IN NEED of a salvation which consists of “ glory, honour AND immortality”? (Rom., 2:7) Seeing that immortality is Scripturally defined as unending life manifested through incorruptible bodies (1 Cor. 15:53; Phil. 3:21), can anything disprove more emphatically the presence of immortality in man than. THE SEPARATION of his life or soul FROM the body? Job said: In my flesh shall J see God.” “ For I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day UPON THE EARTH ” (Job 19:25-26), which agrees with the doctrine of “ immortality ” and “ HOPE ” OF a resurrection TO A FUTURE EXISTENCE on earth, as Paul states: “If there be no resurrection OF THE DEAD, then is Christ not risen. Seeing that: “ The wages of sin is death and that death DOES NOT MEAN a continuation of life or existence, is not God correct in stating that " The dead know not anything”? (Eccl. 9:5) and how can that be said to be death at all which DOES NOT extinguish the consciousness of the subject? Could the words of Scripture be improved (Job 24:19)? “Drought and heat consume the snow waters; so doth the grave those which have Will not trying to make a lie of God s Word prove most unprofitable in view of His declaration: “All liars God will destroy ”? How can one believe in the immortality of the soul without identifying themselves with the cardinal doctrine of paganism and nullifying the Scriptural doctrine of life through a resurrection FROM THE DEAD? (John 5:29) God states: ” The soul that sinneth, IT shall lie” (Ezek. 18:4). The fact of “eternal ife ” being a matter OF PROMISE is proof iiat no one has it now in possession. 3od will grant “ eternal life ” upon His iwn terms and no other than His Word ieclares. " The - Scriptures are able to nake wise unto salva.tion " (2 Tim. 3:15). FREE BIBLE TRUTH LITERATURE. Address: ip.O. Box 857. Dunedin. Questions Invited: W. A. DUNCAN.
