The Education Department is continuing, at the Wellington Technical College, a Training Course for Commercial Teachers, and invites applications for enrolment from persons suitably qualified. Applicants should already have had some experience in office or commercial work. Male applicants should preferably be between 25 and 30 years of age, and female applicants between 21 and 30 years. Those with good experience in Shorthand and Typewriting will be given instruction in Book-keeping and Commercial Practice, and Those with experience in Book-keeping or Accountancy will be given instruction in Shorthand and Typewriting. All trainees will be given instruction in teaching method. The period of training will extend over one academic year. During the period trainees will be paid at the following rates:—Men, £372 15s per annum; Women, £337 7s per annum; Married Men, £423 4s. On completion of the course, it is expected that trainees will find little difficulty in receiving appointments in postprimary schools or in secondary departments of district high schools.
