Best woolly fat wethers sold from 100 s to 106 s 6d, a Southland recqrd price, and in the store pens, ewe hoggets realised to 106 s 6d—a price which exceeded the New Zealand record of 105 s set at Winton three weeks ago. Fat cattle also sold well after a shaky start and there was a sound demand for store cattle.

Fat Sheep.—The yarding of fat sheep was full and the bulk of the entry consisted of shorn sheep. Wethers in wool and woolly ewes sold at increased rates, and shorn wethers made prices on par with those of last week, but shorn ewes were easier by as much as 10s a head.
