ANNIVERSARY SERVICE

Mosgiel Methodist Church

The fifty-fourth anniversary of the Mosgiel Methodist Church was celebrated this week. On Sunday a thanksgiving service was conducted by the Rev. D. J. D. Hickman. There was a very good attendance. On Tuesday evening a social function was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Dunedin, Sir Donald and Lady Cameron, and the Mayor of Mosgiel, Mr W. P. Hartstonge, who welcomed the visitors to Mosgiel and congratulated the minister and officers on the recent renovations carried out to the church. ! Items were givei* by a Dunedin concert party underj-the leadership of Alan Botting and 'the local junior choir. Sir Donald Cameron gave a talk on his experiences overseas, and also spoke of his early association with the Mosgiel Church. UNITED NATIONS APPEAL Further contributions have brought the total of the Mosgiel District High School’s “ Work Day ” effort for the United Nations Appeal to more than £lO7.
