Wool Price At Brisbane 280 d Per Pound / NZPA—Copyright Rec. 1 a.m. BRISBANE, Sept. 19. A new world record for scoured wool was set at the Brisbane wool sale today when a British operator paid 280 d a lb for setyen bales of fine _ soft handling dense carding specialty processing wool. Yesterday’s record of 262 d was exceeded eight times today. A new State record was established today when five bales of greasy merino realised 191 id a lb. The offering today totalled 16,705 bales and there was a full clearance. Competition was keen and general with the Continent predominating. Good support, was also received from Britain, the United States, Russia and Japan. The market was firm on yesterday’s rates for all descriptions. Yesterday’s offering totalled 15,543 bales, all of which was sold. The proceeds of the sale are estimated at £2,500,000.
