CALL TO NEW CHARGE
Minister At Lawrence
At a meeting of the Presbytery of Clutha which was held at Balclutha recently a letter was received from the clerk of the Wairarapa Presbytery intimating that a call had been signed by members and adherents of the Martinborough Church the Rev. E. B. Stevenson, of the Lawrence-Beaumont Church. The Presbytery of Clutha sustained the call. The Rev. J. H. Martin, of Clutha Valley, was appointed interim moderator of the vacant charge. The three Lawrence commissioners, Messrs T. H. Clark, A. Guthrie and W. G. Labes, spoke appreciatively of the services rendered the charge by the Rev. Stevenson and Mrs Stevenson during their term of nearly four years. The induction of the Rev. Mr Stevenson at Martinborough has been arranged provisionally for October 12.
