Women’s Indoor Basketball PA • CHRISTCHURCH. Sept. 18. The surprise in the opening games of the New Zealand women's indoor basketball championships, which began in Christchurch this evening, was the defeat of the Wellington team by Otago by 33 points to 13. In the other A Grade game, Auckland beat Canterbury by 26 points to 14. Wellington had been a champion team since the inauguration of the tournament, and last year Otago was a B Grade team. The results were:—A Grade: Auckland 26, Canterbury 14: Otago 33. Wellington 13. B Grade: Pahiatua 45. Central Otago 21.
