TRAIN DERAILED

PA WANGANUI, July 16. Eleven wagons of a goods train were derailed by a washout on the mam line two miles south of Aramoho Junction on Saturday night. The track was repaired today. The train left Marton at 7.30 p.m. for Wanganui and shortly after 9 p.m. washouts developed on portion of the line after the engine had passed over it, and 11 trucks of the train it was hauling were derailed. Several passengers were in a combined carriage and van at the rear of the tram, but no one was hurt and they were brought on to Wanganui by road.
