Warwick Regains Lead NZPA—Copyright LONDON, July 14. Warwickshire regained the lead in the county cricket championships today with a win over Somerset. They now lead with 112 points from Surrey and Yorkshire, each with 108 points. Results:— Lancashire: First innings, 239 (Edrich 81). Sussex: First innings, 101 (Hilton six for 32, Greenwood four for 43); followed on, 51 (Hilton five for 18, Greenwood five for 24) Lancashire won by an innings and 87 runs. _ „ . Surrey: First innings, 278 (Parker not out 133); second innings, 262 (E. Bedser 78; Cook seven for 104). Gloucester: First innings, 147 (leaker four for 42); second innings, 210 (Laker six for 56). Surrey won bv 183 runs. Hampshire: First innings. 269 (Hall five for 60): second innings, 171 (Richardson four for 39). Derby: First innings, 224; second innings, eight for 83. The match was drawn. Notts: First innings, 407 (Winrow 127, Harris 113; Wright seven for 106). Kent: First innings, 215 (Butler five for 51); followed on, three for 324 (Ames not out 114, Evans not out 99). The match was drawn. Warwick: First innings, five for 466 declared (Gardner not out 215, Ord 84). Somerset: First innings, 216: followed on, 124 (Hollies seven for 48). Warwick won bv an innings and 126 runs. Middlesex: First innings 355 (Robertson 107, Sharp 115): second innings, seven for 184 declared. Worcester: First innings, 330 (Howorth 84): second innings, five for 123. The match was drawn.
