LAWRENCE
Drawn Hockey Match Played in persistent rain, the hockey match between Lawrence and Owaka at Lawrence resulted in a draw, 1-all. In the first half both forward lines played hard but at half time neither side had scored. Early in the second half R. Hall scored for Lawrence, C. McPhee later equalising for Owaka. The referees were Mr J. Child and Mr Beath. RUGBY Lawrence was defeated by Balclutha by 9 points to 0 in a Second Grade Rugby match at Balclutha on Saturday. Although the Balclutha pack was superior, the game was evenly contested.
