TOURS OF NEW ZEALAND
Interest Revived In Britain Rec. 7.30 p.m. LONDON, May 31. There has recently been a revival of interest in Britain in conducted world tours, and the New Zealand Tourist Department in London has received several inquiries from parties who wish to include New Zealand in their itineraries. At least one of these, which is managed by the company responsible for bringing a number of parties to New Zealand before the war,'has now completed arrangements and will spend four weeks in the Dominion in February and March of next year. One of the difficulties in dealing with tourist traffic from the United Kingdom to New Zealand is that normally visitors from this country want bookings outward in September, October and November, and want to return in February, March and April, periods when the reverse traffic of New Zealand visitors coming to and returning from Britain is heaviest. This has made it extremely difficult to obtain shipping berths for parties of British tourists, and these difficulties have been further increased by the shortage of hotel accommodation in the Dominion.
