Cold And Changeable The official weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington is:— Situation.—A weak high-pressure ridge lies over New Zealand. Pressures are low to the south and vest of the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m.—South-west winds, fresh in exposed positions; weather, cold and changeable, with passing showers; improving inland during the day. Further Outlook.—Cloudy, with scattered rain likely. Weather in Dunedini—Temperatures rose to 61 degrees yesterday and there were shr 6min of sunshine. The minimum temperature was 38 degrees. No rain was recorded. The wind was from the west. At midnight the barometer reading was 29.52 inches. SUMMARY FOR MAY A summary of the weather records taken in Dunedin for the month of May is:— Rainfall.—Total fall, 1.06 in; number of days with rain, 15; greatest fall in one day, 0.34 in (May 18). Sunshine. —Total sunshine, 97hr 54min; number of days with sunshine, 26; greatest period of daily sunshine, Bhr 24min (May 2); average daily sunshine. 3hr Bmin. Temperatures.—Average maximum. 56 degrees; average minimum, 42.2 degrees; highest recordded, 72.8 degrees (May 27); lowest recorded. 30 degrees (May 19).
