WILLIAMS FIT
Team For Canterbury Game From the Sports Editor TIMARU, May 31. The most heartening news the British Isles team has had for some time came with the selection of the side to play Canterbury at Christchurch on Saturday. Bleddyn Williams, vice-captain of the touring team, has been pronounced fit to play and will be partnered by N. Henderson in the centre. G. Rimmer will also make a reappearance as scrum-half. The team is:—
Backs.—Full-back, W. B. Cleaver (Wales); three-quarters—K. J. Jones (Wales), B. L. Williams (Wales), N. Henderson (Ireland), R. Macdonald (Scotland); half-backs. J. W. Kyle (Ireland) and G. Rimmer (England). Forwards.—Front-row —J. D» Robins (Wales), K. J. Mullen (Ireland, captain), T. Clifford (Ireland); middlerow—R. T. Evans (Wales), E. R. John (Wales), D. J. Hayward (Wales), P. W. Kinninmonth (Scotland); back-row, J. S. McCarthy (Ireland). At practice today, J. R. G. Stephens (Wales), who wrenched his shoulder in the Nelson match, had his first run since, and it is hoped that he will be able to play shortly.
