BLOOD VESSEL BANK
Human Arteries For Operations NEW YORK, Rec. 8.50 p.m. May 17. A blood vessel bank to provide human arteries for operations has been established, the New York Heart Association announced today. The bank at present had 21 inches of preserved arteries. This was enough for seven operations In which the damaged or diseased part of a blood vessel was cut out and a new section grafted on. The association said it had its first success recently when a section of artery was transplanted into a young male patient.
