OTAGO HUNT CLUB
Meet At East Taieri The weekly meet of the Otago Hunt Club was held on Saturday afternoon at East Taieri over the properties of Messrs Muirhead Bros., R. Barnes, J. Tregilgus, M. Hammer, J. H. Douglas, P. Birley and J. Dunnery. The weather was warm and dry, in contrast to the conditions in Dunedin. The course proved a severe test, and about half of the followers completed the whole run. Before departing, the master, Mr J. E. Brunton, thanked the property owners and Mr and Mrs Dunnery, for assisting with the afternoon tea. The hunt next Saturday will probably be held in the morning to enable followers to attend the football match. Those who followed the hunt were: The master, Mr J. E. Brunton, on Comeaway; the deputy master, Mr K. Russell, on Rocket; the huntsman, Mr J. S. McKay, on Peter L; the whip, Mr J. Harris, on Stately; Mrs A. C. Sherriff on General MacArthur; Mrs W. Gorton on Sallv Mine; Miss E. Ings on Blue Bird; Miss A. Horne on Amberley; Miss P. Middlemiss on Comet: Messrs J. Fogo on Necal; A. Warburton on Desmond; J. McCulloch on William Tell; E. Lovett on Geordie; F. Gorton on Jacko; J. Coutts on- Anas; B. Thomson on Tamerlane; D. Langford on Eve Acre; J. Murary on Libellula and Quadrille; J. Julian on Phantom Night; N. Ellis on Shanks Pony; and R. Hurring on Penny Nap.
